What is Micro-needling

HYDRAPEN BY DERMAMEDICAL

An advanced aesthetic procedure that makes use of a device consisting of multiple tiny sterile needles, which oscillate (moving back and forth) on top of the skin. These needles penetrate the skin and cause micro-injury, which triggers the skin cells to repair and regenerate, including collagen and elastin.


The HydraPen DM+ combines the functions of microdermabrasion and mesotherapy while the microneedles produce microdamage to the epidermis, leading to the production of collagen and elastin and enhancing cellular renewal. During the procedure, channels are formed on the skin, which improves the penetration of active ingredients by 80%. After recovery, the result of the procedure lasts some time after that.

Micro-needling is used to treat and improve conditions like acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, loose skin, skin texture, pore size, brown spots, stretch marks, and pigment issues. It's also called skin needling, collagen induction therapy (CIT), and percutaneous collagen induction (PCI)

Results can take up to 3-9 months to fully appear as the body takes time to generate new collagen. The client will see continual improvement.

The numbing cream that makes this process painless is applied on the skin 30 minutes before conducting this treatment making it comfortable but not painful.

The medical community generally considers micro-needling to be safe and effective, but there are still some risks. The primary risk is skin irritation after the procedure. Other side effects could include: swelling

Effects of a micro-needling Pen. No skin enhancement procedure is permanent. This is important because a micro-needling pen creates microscopic injuries in the skin in order to stimulate the body's natural healing response. It is the healing process that produces improved-looking skin.

If being exposed to sun after treatment, wear a Hat for at least 2 days post treatment.

Use a very gentle cleanser and tepid water to rinse the face over the next 72 hours. Gently dry the treated area after rinsing and make sure your hands are as clean as possible.

The inflammatory reaction of the skin is extremely short and fades significantly within hours from redness to pinkish that may last for 12 to 48 hours. In order to reduce visible redness, we recommend LED treatment after the procedure, and to protect the skin use a chemical free sunblock if being exposed to sun.

It is normal for the skin to peel after micro-needling treatments within a few days. A new layer of skin is produced and the old skin begins peeling off. The peeling will be minimal, similar to a mild sunburn. This will subside within a few days, leaving you with a youthful, glowing look and feel.

If you have micro-needling performed on your face, you'll have to wait 2 to 3 days to begin wearing makeup again, depending on the unique post-procedure instructions that your skin expert has provided you after your session.

Micro-needling can be safely repeated every 4-6 weeks until you achieve the desired results. For collagen induction we recommend to start with 3 treatments, but with a minimum separation time of 4 to 6 weeks between treatments. For scar reduction an average of 3 to 6 treatments are recommended.
